God’s Description Of You

Then one of the servants answered and said, “Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the LORD is with him.” Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, “Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”

At this point, David is still a shepherd boy. One of the servants of Saul saw David as a mighty man of valor and a man of war, which is interesting because he had not even gone to war yet. Saul merely recognised David by his vocation.

For David, maybe he would have recognised himself like everyone else did - a small boy who tended sheeps. I believe Saul’s servant looked upon David with God’s eyes, calling out his potential, skills and destiny.
