As the topic says: More Jesus, less... Today, this post is going to tell you how we should weigh Jesus bigger than other things.

1) More Jesus, less me
At the point when you choose to accept Jesus into your life, Jesus will come into your life and live in you. In the past, it is you at the throne of your heart, making decisions for yourself. But now, it should be Jesus sitting at the throne of your heart, making decisions for you. You should live Christ-like as how God called you to live. Your life should therefore reflect as more of Jesus inside you and less of self: me.

'He must become greater; I must become less.'
John 3:30

2) More Jesus, less religion
When you are asked: do you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior? When you said yes, a salvation prayer comes along, and you declare that by faith, you are saved. Yes, its true that you are called Christian. However, you are not really stepping into a religion, you are much more stepping into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

'No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.'
John 1:18

3) More Jesus, less world
Let all the worldly desires perish, for it is in your old self. If you say you love money, treat people as idols, or even love sin, how different are you when you compare yourself to your old ways? You are loving the world, because you are following what the world is doing. Cease then, whatever that is ungodly in your present life, and move on with Jesus in your presence.

'Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.'
1 John 2:15

4) More Jesus, less sin
As the verse below says: come back to your senses, and stop sinning! When you place Jesus in your life, you need to know that Jesus does not associate with sin; only the devil does. Even though you are aware that our compassionate God will forgive your sin, no matter how much anger He may have felt, but still, I appeal to you that you will stop sinning. When you know that temptation is facing you, and you want to sin, remember the cross, the debt that Jesus paid just for your sins. Keep remembering Jesus, and place Him as your priority in your life.

'Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God- I say this to your shame.'
1 Corinthians 15:34

5) More Jesus, less end
Why we need to say the salvation prayer with faith? Because we will be saved from death and evil. Only God has the power to give us eternal life, for He is the beginning and the end. Hence, I will say: how powerful is my belief that will spare me from the eternal fire in hell! In this case, there will be no end for my life, because I believe my faith is on solid rock, and I am going to heaven to serve Him!

'He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.'
Revelation 21:6-7

6) More Jesus, less suffering
The book of revelations reveals that God is preparing a great place for us: a place where all suffering will end, no tears will be shed, and no longer will we be thirsty. Even now, on earth, Jesus is wiping our sufferings away. Whenever we are sad, burdened, or tired, Jesus says: Come to me, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28) Therefore, come to Jesus whenever you are suffering, and He will grant you strength.

'And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Revelations 21:3-4

Lastly, I appeal to you, readers of this blog, as a sister in Christ, that you will start to tune your mindset to become more like Jesus, bearing all these factors in mind. Be hungry for more and more of Jesus, and start to spend more time with Jesus. God bless! :)

My God

Blogging for quite some time, I somehow got lost in topics to say about Christianity. Even though I am a believer, I must admit that I have space for my knowledge of Christ. I need to pursue Him more, and I will find amazing things of God. Today, I thank God that He showed me these verses, and I am going to reveal to you who my God really is through these.

'Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, 'The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.' The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young. Let him sit alone in silence, for the Lord has laid it on him. Let him bury his face in the dust--there may yet be hope. Let him offer his cheek to one who would strike him, and let him be filled with disgrace. For men are not cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.'
Lamentations 3:22-32

Through this verse, we can see:
1) My God is love
This verse which I heard as a song, John 4:8: God is love. This verse also reveals God's love for us: Becuase of God's great love we are not consumed; Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. This is so ture! How God has laid down His life for us, to the time when He points at us and say I will use you,, till the time that He keeps forgiving us of our sin, this is our God: love

'Yet the Lord set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today.'
Deuteronomy 10:15

2) My God is faithful
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. When God says He forgive, He is faithful and will not take back His words. Even when we turn unfaithful to Him, He remains faithful to us, being hopeful of one day that we may turn back to Him.

'To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless.'
Psalms 18:25

3) My God is compassionate
Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. When God sees His believers turning to Satan, instead of being angry and casting them to hell, He chose to have compassion on people and kept giving them chances. For me, God revealed Himself to me as compassionate when I drifted away from Him, and I thank God for giving me this chance to return back into His presence, so that I can speak into people's lives.

'If you return to the Lord, then your fellow Israelites and your children will be shown compassion by their captors and will return to this land, for the LORD your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him. ”
2 Chronicles 30:9

What a great God we serve! One who is worthy of all our praises because of the unfailing love He shows us. Continue to be hopeful in the Lord, and He will show you His presence, and the help that you need!

Conquering fear

Are there any fears in your life? Are there any fears that are affecting your life or the people around you? If yes is your answer to any of these two questions, then this post today is designed for you! Do read closely and I pray that after reading this post, you will be able to conquer some of the fears you have in your life. Always remember:

1) Fear is never given by God
Except one commandment that God gave us, to fear the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:13), the rest of our fears are imposed by the devil. People fear because they do not have a sense of security, for instance, phobia of heights. In this way, when you let fear step into your life, you are giving the devil a chance to attack you, telling you lies like: God is not protecting you at all. Where is He when your are fearing me? Never give the devil a chance to attack you with his lies. Just remember, fear is never given by God.

'The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?'
Psalm 27:1

'For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.'
2 Timothy 1:7

'The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
Romans 8:15

2) Jesus is omipresent
As I have mentioned, since fear is imposed by the devil, just lift your voice and tell the devil: no fear shall conqueror me, for my God is a God of full power- Jesus! The devil will start to shudder because of Jesus is more powerful and greater than Him (James 2:19). Anywhere you are, whenever you fear, just start to shout loud to Jesus, and He will hear you, for Jesus is omipresent.

'You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.'
James 2:19

'Lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah,“Here is your God!”
Isaiah 40:9

3) God's protection is always with us
When you have faith in Jesus, you are having faith that He will answer your prayers. For me, whenever I fear, I believe that God is hearing my prayer, even in the spirit. Just say a prayer of protection, and God's protection will be spreaded over you. No one shall harm you when Jesus is protecting you.

'But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.'
Psalm 5:11

'So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.'
Isaiah 41:10

'Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
Hebrews 13:5-6

4) No fear is bigger and greater than Jesus
While I was reading the chapter when Jesus was sendng out the twelve to proclaim the gospel (Matthew 10), I felt God teaching me a lesson: No one is bigger or greater than I. I am the first and the last; the beginning and the end. Fear no one but I. This also made me realise that no one is bigger than Jesus. Today, if anyone are imposing their fears on you, for instance, our greatest enemy, the devil, or your class bullies, I tell you, never be afraid of them, for our God is the great I AM!

'Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.'
Matthew 10:28

'But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.'
2 Corinthians 4:7-11

Therefore, today, no matter what fears you are having, perhaps it had been a part of your life for a long period, never give a chance to let the devil step into your life again, but face and conqueror your fear with God right beside you!

Dear Jesus,
Help me to conqueror my fear.
For I know fear is never given by you,
And no fear could be greater than you.
For nothing is impossible for you.
I will choose to only fear you and you alone.
Wipe away all my fears, O God.
Let me conqueror my fears today, believing that you are omipresent.

Surrender

Sometimes, when I sinned, I started to look upon myself as an unworthy child, one who does not deserve God to use me. Hypocritical, I would deem myself. An ongoing process of sinning and God's grace. Then I started to question God: Father, you created the whole world, and all that is in it. Why, then, would you use an unworthy child like me? Even if I could not be of use to you, you still have the whole world, except me alone. Recently, I reflected on the reasons why we should not reject God's usuage of us.

1) We are nothing without God
The creator of us all:God. He is the one with authority, giving each of us the breath of life, a unique being. Who can we surrender to, except our creator? If Jesus was not the one who create us, where can we have a place standing on this Earth, serving Him? We, as human beings, are created by Him, therefore our life belongs to Him!

'Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were brought at a price.'
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

2) He forgave our sin
What would we be without God? Some of you reading this today, until now, are still so reluctant to accept Christ. What is holding you back? Do you know that without God's forgiveness, you are still a sinner, till today? Some of you may comment that God has the authority to forgive sins, by just saying it out. But people, He did not just say it with His mouth that He is going to forgive us of every sin. He used His action, by dying on the cross for our sin. I wonder, what would become of me if I did not accept Jesus? Maybe a good for nothing. Because God wants us to feel significant that He truly desires to use us, therefore He forgave all our sins. He forgave me yesterday, today, and even in future.

'But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!'
Romans 5:15

3) We will become stagnant
Who will still use us if we reject God's usuage? Maybe the devil, but on bad intentions, maybe for the destroyal of your life. Only Jesus will use our life on good purpose. The time when we reject God's usuage is the time when no one use we. Hence we will become stagnant, with nothing to live for, nothing to live on. It will be the time when we feel worthless. But at the point of time when we start to willingly surrender to Him, He will start to use us in a great way.

'They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them, “Do not do as they do.”
2 Kings 17:15

Then this question starts to pop up: how do I surrender to Jesus?

1) Belief is surrender
When you start to believe in Jesus, saying the salvation prayer, your belief is an act of surrender to Him. Even at times of trouble or tribulation, when you start to cry out to Jesus and pray to Him, you are surrendering to Him, for you know that this is a God whom you can put your trust in.

'But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as first fruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.'
2 Thessalonians 2:13

2) Obedience is surrender
Obeying God is the same as surrendering because you are pleasing Him. In whatever things that you do, when you listen to what He commands you, you are giving your life to Godly purposes that God has installed for your life.

'Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him.'
Deuteronomy 8:6

3) Submission is surrender
When you submit to your leader, you will obey his instructions. Similarly, when you submit to God, you are offering your service to Him, believing that He is worthy to be served. Submit to Him as an act of surrender, and be willing to be used by Him.

'Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the Lord. Come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the Lord your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you.'
2 Chronicles 30:8

My Case:
For me, I chose to surrender my life to Jesus because I believe He is worthy. Even though I drifted once because of ungodly behavior, I found out that He would still be willing to forgive me. I may sometimes think: will God forgive me after all that I had done? But I realised this:

If I treat God as a human, I may not expect total forgiveness from Him. But when I treat God as God, I should ask with repentance, believing that He will totally forgive me.


If I treat God as a person, I would not need to expect Him to use me in any great way. But when I treat God as God, I should expect Him to use me in a greater way that I will never expect of myself.

Therefore, I surrendered to Jesus once again, while He starts to instill in me a greater passion and fire for Him. Readers, today, if you can identify yourself as the situation I once had, let me assure you this: God will surely forgive you, and He never fails! So, stop feeling unworthy or guilty of sin, for when you start to have faith that Jesus will forgive you, He definitely will!

Note to unbelievers:
Now, God is offering this invitation to you, to accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior. If you wish to accept Jesus today, then say this prayer and mean it in your heart. God will hear you and grant you immediate acceptance.

Prayer:
Jesus, today, I know that I need you, and I want you in my life. Will you forgive me of all my sins, wipe my past away, make me a new person. Lord Jesus I believe, you are the Son of God. You died for me, and you rose again, and today, you are living in me. I thank you for all that you have done in my life. Today, I surrender my life to you. Take my life for you to use, Lord. Thank you Jesus for saving me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Note to Christians:
No one is perfect. But as Christians ourselves, God has given us a commandment, that is to live each day being holy. Once again, continue to surrender to Jesus and keep having your spirit and desire for Him be renewed.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I thank you for my salvation, and I pray that you will continue to use me in a great way. Continue to strengthen me as I continue to seek after you and do your work. I thank you, for even when I am not worthy, you picked me and love me. I pray I will continue to be willing to be used by you. Continue to let me be a holy being, surrendering my all to you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

I have come to the 72th post of my blog, and so far, I have analysed that most of my blog posts always talks about the issue of Jesus only. In this post, I am going to talk about Him, and also, make a comparison between God and people. Its long, but still, hope you will finish reading, being refreshed while God speaks to you through this.

Firstly, I analysed the first point which Jesus differs from people: response.

1) Forgiveness
Because our God is a God of compassion, therefore He sent His son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins so that we can be saved (John 3:16).God's forgiveness is so ready, and when He says He will forgive us, He means it and does not take back His word. For people, it may take some time for us to forgive someone, depending on the amount of hatred we have for that person. I sometimes tell my friends: forgive and forget, and life will be so much easier. However, some may forget, but not forgive; some may express that they forgive the other party willingly, but in actual fact, they bear that hatred in their heart.

2) Faith
When Jesus was walking with the disciples and passed by a fig tree bearing no fruit, He cursed the fig tree and it withered (Matthew 21:16-22). Why is it that the fig tree could wither so quickly? It is because Jesus responded with absolute faith. But as Christians, when we pray for a particular need, or when we ask something from God, sometimes our prayer gets unanswered. Three reasons:
-God is asking you to wait. He is testing your faith. (James 5:10-11)
-When praying, you did not respond with faith, but doubted. (James 1:6-7)
-You request with wrong intentions (James 4:3)

The second point I thought of: treatment.

1) Equality
God treats everyone with the same amount of love and care, no matter whether you are a believer of Christ or not. Even if you are a hater or rejector of Christ, He still has compassion for you and loves you! For people, however, some practise favoritism. For instance, they may prefer person A to person B, therefore treating person A better. But God told us that we should not show favoritism. (James 2:1-4)

2) Attitude
Since God created mankind, and every person sins, you should be able to imagine the grace and compassion God has for His creation:way too huge! Instead of being angry at sinners and sent their souls to the hellfire, God adopts a cool headed attitude towards us:forgiveness. Even to great sin like persecuting His church, He will not get angry, but adopt the attitude of being cool headed, forgiving and patient. Like the apostle Paul, who persecuted the church, God did not get angry with Him, but forgave Him (Acts 8:1-3) and made him realise that He is God (Acts 9:3-6), and even thereafter, transforming Paul into a great man who does the work of God (Acts 9:15-18). As for us, people, when someone did us wrong, especially grave mistakes, instead of adopting the cool headed attitude, some would start to be angered and adopt the hot tempered attitude, treating people harshly or crudely, not bothering how people may feel.

Some may comment: Because God is perfect, therefore the way He lives everyday will be holy. From beginning till the end, He will always be holy. Since I'm not God, and am a sinner from birth, I would not be able to behave exactly like Him. Well, human beings are not perfect, but we can strive to imitate the way Jesus responds and treats His people, so that we can be called His holy creation, at other people's sight (1 Peter 1:15). For this is what the word says:

'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.'
Isaiah 55:8

'For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.'
Romans 6:14

'Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.'
Romans 6:12

This is the purpose why I made a comparison between God and people: to let people realise the difference God works and theirs so that they may reflect on the way they always used to work, and now, change their mindset, to imitate God's ways. Lastly, below is an extract which I have learnt through a service at my youth service, and its somehow related to this post. I pray that God will speak to you through this post. Be blessed!

'Because we are not perfect, hence when God sends His son to die for our sin, Jesus's perfection covers our imperfection, so that we can be called holy. Being called holy by God, never give yourself a chance to slip down. God wants us to live at the standard that we are being called to live in.'
