As the topic says: More Jesus, less... Today, this post is going to tell you how we should weigh Jesus bigger than other things.
1) More Jesus, less me
At the point when you choose to accept Jesus into your life, Jesus will come into your life and live in you. In the past, it is you at the throne of your heart, making decisions for yourself. But now, it should be Jesus sitting at the throne of your heart, making decisions for you. You should live Christ-like as how God called you to live. Your life should therefore reflect as more of Jesus inside you and less of self: me.
'He must become greater; I must become less.'
2) More Jesus, less religion
When you are asked: do you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior? When you said yes, a salvation prayer comes along, and you declare that by faith, you are saved. Yes, its true that you are called Christian. However, you are not really stepping into a religion, you are much more stepping into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
'No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.'
3) More Jesus, less world
Let all the worldly desires perish, for it is in your old self. If you say you love money, treat people as idols, or even love sin, how different are you when you compare yourself to your old ways? You are loving the world, because you are following what the world is doing. Cease then, whatever that is ungodly in your present life, and move on with Jesus in your presence.
'Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.'
1 John 2:15
4) More Jesus, less sin
As the verse below says: come back to your senses, and stop sinning! When you place Jesus in your life, you need to know that Jesus does not associate with sin; only the devil does. Even though you are aware that our compassionate God will forgive your sin, no matter how much anger He may have felt, but still, I appeal to you that you will stop sinning. When you know that temptation is facing you, and you want to sin, remember the cross, the debt that Jesus paid just for your sins. Keep remembering Jesus, and place Him as your priority in your life.
'Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God- I say this to your shame.'
1 Corinthians 15:34
5) More Jesus, less end
Why we need to say the salvation prayer with faith? Because we will be saved from death and evil. Only God has the power to give us eternal life, for He is the beginning and the end. Hence, I will say: how powerful is my belief that will spare me from the eternal fire in hell! In this case, there will be no end for my life, because I believe my faith is on solid rock, and I am going to heaven to serve Him!
'He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.'
6) More Jesus, less suffering
The book of revelations reveals that God is preparing a great place for us: a place where all suffering will end, no tears will be shed, and no longer will we be thirsty. Even now, on earth, Jesus is wiping our sufferings away. Whenever we are sad, burdened, or tired, Jesus says: Come to me, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28) Therefore, come to Jesus whenever you are suffering, and He will grant you strength.
'And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Lastly, I appeal to you, readers of this blog, as a sister in Christ, that you will start to tune your mindset to become more like Jesus, bearing all these factors in mind. Be hungry for more and more of Jesus, and start to spend more time with Jesus. God bless! :)
