FeaturedSongs

Hey fellow bloggers and readers! Thanks for visiting this page! Through this, I'll be posting an album I like and recommend for listening. I hope the songs will bless your hearts.

Featuring this month, is Let It Echo album by Jesus Culture. In particular, there are 2 songs that I really love:

Alive In You

I recalled hearing this song when I was going through a down period in my life. I was deeply impacted by one of the lines in the chorus that went You are strong in my brokenness / Sovereign over every step. The song reminded me that God has full control over my situation even when things seemed out of control.

In the bridge of the song, there lies the declaration Paul made:

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. - Galatians 2:20

I realized, in the midst of my pain, suffering, or trials, I can place my full trust in God. God has a purpose in whatever He wants me to go through, and He desires for me to develop an eternal perspective - seeing what He sees, and living the life Jesus lived.

God Of Miracles

This song began with Chris Quilala sharing on the loss of his baby boy. In that moment, he chose to believe that God is good and is the God of miracles even if he did not see the miracle of his son coming back to life. In his words,

'Miracles' is a song about choosing to believe the truth, that God is who He says He is.

I paused the song and reflected on the areas in my life where I had been holding on to believe God for a miracle.  It seemed that every man and woman whom God is pushing their faith to greater heights had to struggle with this: Even if you do not see God act the way you desire, will you still believe and trust that He is God?

This song is a powerful declaration of our faith in God, however we may face or feel. Especially in times when God does not seem to be moving, this song helps us to refocus our eyes back on our sovereign God.
