Money issues

You can't love God and money together: you have to choose one!! And, I choose to love Jesus...

Perhaps you have been trying to take on jobs and work extra hard so that you can use your money to retire early. Or you have been trying to save every single cent so that you can use those money on useful things. However, have you ever thought that life is not in your control, that you may one day die? Then where all those hard earned money will go to, especially if you are a parent now and did not write a will before you die, maybe all your children will start fighting over those money.

This post is not to encourage you to write a will, or teach you how to write it, but rather, its about the cons of getting rich. Proverbs 30:8-9 states:

'Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.'

Sometimes we may be so affected by wanting to become rich till we start to disown God, saying things like: I earned all these hard earned money myself. Why should I surrender my money to you? Never be blinded by money, but be self-sufficient.

Next, Matthew 16:19-20 states:

'Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.'

You may think that all the money you are earning now is valuable, but it is only valuable to you when you are alive on earth, because you cannot bring the money with you when you die. Therefore, instead of concentrating on storing treasures on earth, why not start investing into the kingdom of God? I tell you, you may not see those treasures yet, but in the end, when you go to heaven, those will last forever.

Another issue, is that some people may be too engrosed when they worship wealth or money, that they want to earn big bucks in just one month. Impatient, this is the problem with some. However, the bible says:

'Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.'
Proverbs 13:11

'Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.'
Ecclesiastes 5:10

Hence, never try to be impatient, or even start to worship money. Rather, start with small targets, and pray, most importantly, and you will be blessed. Be contented with what you have now, and believe that Jesus can be sufficient for you. Never be too greedy.

Last but not least, Matthew 6:24 states:

'No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.'

Since God and money doesn't associate together, and you can only worship one God, for me, I'll advise you to choose God, for as I said earlier, be contented with what you have, and believe that Jesus will be sufficient for you. Hence choose to serve and be devoted to Jesus, and He is going to give you blessing that will last; blessings even better than the money you are earning on earth!

Today, for you that are reading this post, I hope that you will choose to place Jesus as your provider in life, and believe for even greater things that will be done in your life. Remember, never be impatient, but be contented with what you have!

'He does not oppress anyone, but returns what he took in pledge for a loan. He does not commit robbery but gives his food to the hungry and provides clothing for the naked.'
Ezekiel 18:7

God bless ya!! ٩(•̮̮̃•̃)۶
