Having too much on your plate?

Having too much on your plate
Defined: to be too busy...

Living in a hectic country, Singapore, I realized that most Singaporeans are too busy with tight work schedule. In the morning, MRT trains are always filled with many people, dressed up in fine suitable clothes for work, I sometimes wonder: are people sometimes having too much on their plates that they neglect God?

In school, when teachers pour heavy loads of homework for students, they may get so busy that they start to skip meals, or just get stressed up because of unfinished work. Then they will end up going to school feeling sleepy and find it hard to concentrate in classes.

While at work, for instance, people who are working as accountants, they have to rush to finish up accounts which are balanced, and when they are unbalanced, these people will feel so frustrated, and then start to redo the whole accounts until it gets balanced. While at home, bringing back home unfinished work will leave them with not enough time to rest. The whole work life of theirs may be just be revolving around with work.

Despite all the busiest times you have, Jesus said:

'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.'
Matthew 11:28

Therefore, no matter how busy you may be, or how beat you may feel due to schoolwork or work, remember to always come to Jesus, for He'll never fail!

Next in Isaiah 40:30-31, its says:
'Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.'

Hence, no matter how occupied you may be, sometimes you just need to take a break from all the stress and start to wait on Him. Yes He knows how tired you are, but when you start to wait on Him, your strength will be renewed.

Lastly, no matter how tired you may be till you neglect that God is right beside you, you need to stop whatever you are doing, and realize that Jesus is God, and that He is bigger and greater than your work. No matter how much you may be worrying about the deadlines:

'Be still, and know that I am God.'
Psalms 46:10

Therefore...
'I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.'
Phillipians 4:13

Hope that no matter where you are, feeling tied up by work, your first thought will be to turn to God for strength. Remember, our God never fails! :D

  1. Truly we should always give God our time. We had all the time that we had and God only ask us to spend a little of our time in prayer, in reading His Word or in listening to His word at church. Inspite of our busy schedule, we must stop and give God praise and thanksgiving. or else, we may be yoke by satan-whose plan is to steal our time for God, the joy in being in His presence, etc.

Glad to find Christians here who is not ashamed or afraid to speak and share about the Gospel of Truth...

    God bless you...
